LMV Sourcing

Fitting, quality & technical development

Fit and quality are decided long before a garment reaches a customer. LMV Sourcing builds the technical foundation (patterns, tech packs, specs and standardized sizing) and checks it at every stage of production, from pre-production sample to bulk inspection.

What's included

  • Patternmaking & fitting
  • Tech packs & technical specifications
  • Size standardization across a range
  • Pre-production quality control
  • Bulk production quality control

A garment’s fit and quality are built into the pattern and the tech pack long before production starts. LMV Sourcing handles that technical foundation and checks it at every stage, so what gets approved in a sample is what a customer actually receives.

Patternmaking, fitting and tech packs

Patternmaking and fitting work fixes construction and grading issues before they multiply across a size range. Tech packs capture the result in enough construction detail, measurements, materials, trims and colourways that any factory can produce the garment consistently, without back-and-forth. Size standardization keeps that consistency across the whole range, not just the sample size.

Quality control, pre-production and bulk

Pre-production QC catches problems while they’re still cheap to fix: a wrong seam allowance or an off-spec trim caught before cutting costs far less than the same fault caught in a finished shipment. Bulk production quality control then checks finished goods against the approved sample and the tech pack, in person or remotely depending on the factory and the risk profile of the order.

Why it matters upstream

Weak technical development shows up later as fit complaints, returns and factory disputes over what was actually agreed. Getting patternmaking, tech packs and quality control right protects both the product and the sourcing and production relationship built around it. Questions

What goes into a tech pack?

Construction detail, measurements, materials, trims, colourways and grading, enough for any factory to produce the garment consistently, without back-and-forth.

Do you inspect production in person or remotely?

Both, depending on the factory, the risk profile of the order and what the brand already has in place.
